Today’s workout!

This routine was amazing! If you can see it, every minute you do 4 burpees, no matter where you are in your routine, then continue on. If at the end you are at 32min or like me 29(arrrgghhhhh) you have to do do HKS until the next 10 min with burpee intervals. So I clocked in at 29.55 with burpees to go so lucky me got 10min of hKs (actually I don’t mind bc I love the torture)

Grocery haul

I got some wonderful ingredients for some baking I plan on doing this week. I plan on making Jamie Easons’ cinnamon swirl protein bread, as well as Skinny Chunky Monkey cookies recipe I saw on Six Sisters Stuff blog this morning. Really excited to try both of these recipes. Last week I made Jamie Easons’ Pumpkin Protein Bars . They were amazing! Consistency is perfect, somewhat like pumpkin pie but a little more firm =DEEEE-LISH!
Here’s a pic of them! Oh and my 8yr old LOVES them, it almost bothers me she likes them because now I have to share, seriously they are that good!

I also picked up some
Nutritional Yeast for a “Cheesy” avocado pasta recipe I saw some time ago, just kept forgetting to pick up Nutritional Yeast which is loaded with B12 and gives a cheesy flavor. And the more I can use my spiraler; the better!

Since coconut oil is so good for you inside and out, I thought I would try out the flour, which is gluten free and low in digestible carbs as well as being a good source of protein! I’ll let you know what I think of it this week ๐Ÿ™‚

Fit test day 30 of jan.

Ok so today I am on day 30 of the January fit test. Excited to see my scores compared to day 1!

To think June 6th was my first day of BofyRock and I was able to complete 4 proper pushups; today 35! Holy cow and it’s only been 2 months! This time next year I’ll be lifting cars!!

Tabata & Skipping

Skipping: Since I am no longer able to run (for the time being) and since I need to have cardio…I NEED cardio, I had to think of what I could do that would be lower-impact than running but still get my sweat on. I came across the idea of skipping on the bodyrock.tv app, (don’t have it? get it!), I never thought to apply tabata to skipping but after reading a friends post I decided to give it a go…

so here’s a simple tabata routine I did, I usually do 10-12 min.

set my gymboss timer to 10sec rest and 50 sec on, and go!

I think the next time I do this i will try to do 10sec rest and 1.30min on, because I love to torture myself!

This does not mean it is my favourite, I have way too many….my ultimate sandbag, my equalizer bars, pink ofcourse!ย I love them all but my workouts wouldn’t be nearly as difficult if it weren’t for my little gymboss, whom I LOVE so much!

Spirializer Spiraling

Ok so I bought this amazing and beautiful gadget last week while downtown with husband. Is it necessary, well….absolutely it is, No it’s not…but it sure makes veggies pretty and fun! Putting the veggies through the spiraler was so satisfying. It’s a wonderful thing when you can look at your vegetables and think they are the prettiest things you have ever seen. So my gadget is The Paderno World Cuisine Spiralizer, I just love it! We made the dish below as well as some apple chips that baby Iz and I loved!

Peanut Honey Lime Dressing with modified ingredients made by moi ๐Ÿ™‚

  • 1/2 Tbsp honey
  • 1/2 cup natural peanut butter
  • Juice of 2 limes
  • 2 Tbsp red chilli flakes
  • 2 tsp tamari
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • Zest of one lime
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 cup almond milk unsweetened original
  • 1/2 cup water

I mixed all this together and put in pot on stove top on low and simmered, when the liquid reduced I served it over chicken i lightly grilled on BBQ which was on top of the gorgeous veggies I spiraled!
